PODCAST IS UP FOR THE WEEK

I'd like to think this was our best podcast yet. It's only a little over an hour. Last week we discussed our favorite games both this year and what we think will be our favorites for next year. Also the npd's are at the end. Next week we will have the topic of videogames and the econonmy, and the news segment will be back as well. Also can't for get the what we've been playing segement as usual. Hopefully you will feel free to ask us any quesitons for any of the upcoming shows. I'll try to keep things informed on this blog.

You can post your questions and responses here, but preferably on our "forums". I use that term very loosely, but we've made facebook group that is open to everyone called "CW Games Pawdcast". The podcast dl link is there and i will also post them here. Thanks, we've got some cool ideas for the year, and if you have any, please do tell.

Updates for FFXIII and Advent Children...old and new..

A new character for FFXIII was revealed today in V-Jump. Honestly, I think he's kinda pimp and I'm excited to see the return of a black character in the Final Fantasy series. Yea, it sounds predictable and what not, but who cares. The man isn't dressed with belts dangling everywhere and he's missing the usual spikey hair. To the point....he's a refreshing character design for the series. Scans from the magazine located

As for Advent Children Complete for Blu-Ray, I can't wait. Of course it's only coming out in Japan at the moment, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be a hit. I mean, not for the movie, but for the playable FFXIII demo. It's coming out this March, and it has some special bundles.

ex-1UP FM podcast.....REBEL FM.....so you know...REBEL

Pardon the lame headline....yes, i know. LAME. Anyways a couple of ex-1UP employees are continuing to do what they do and love best by evolving what used to be 1UP FM. The new podcast just debuted a couple of days after they were let go from 1UP. I listened to it the day it debuted and it's a great podcast, but I'll just let you listen to it for yourself. REBEL FM ftw!

1UP FM: Anthony Gallegos, Nick Suttner, Phillip Kollar, Matt Chandronait, Ryan O'Donnell, Jade Kraus, and Arthur Gies.

KILLZONE 2

Believe in it because i believe in it!....Ok, so it's not that extreme but take a look at some footage that gaming blog site Kotaku rounded up from CES 09 (Consumer Electrics Show). It's off-screen footage, but who-cares it's still awesome looking. I'll fill you guys in later about my slow love for Killzone 2 since it's debut in a few more days. BTW i like the first video the best.

#$%^ Happens.....

I hate to say this but, EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) is dead. Ziff Davis, the magazines owner, has sold the 1UP nextwork (the online subsiderary to EGM) to Hearst publications. While EGM wasn't bought by Hearst, 1UP (the network including gamevideos.com,Mycheats.com, and Gametab.com) will now be a part of UGO.com.

I've been a long time fan of EGM and I remember bragging to my friends about my 1UP points when the network was first created. Over the past two years i've enjoyed the 1UP show and 1UP Yours podcasts and i hope they can both be salvaged.

It's sad to see what's happening to print publication, but this is where the market is heading and it's more and more online. In fact, my favorite videogame magazines of all time are EGM, Official PlayStation Magazine, and Gamepro, but over the last years every magazine i've loved has gotten slimmer and eventually they die...

So, my best wishes go out to the people i've grown to know through the pages of EGM. Also to those who won't make the transistion to UGO. And finally the remainder of the staff that does make the transistion, good luck.

and of course check out the editor/staff blogs on www.1up.com

UPDATE: It's looking like both podcasts might not continue....
